Myofascial Stretch Therapy

Have you ever felt that perfect calm — relaxed yet alert, creative, and focused? That mental sweet spot is often linked to alpha brain waves, rhythmic patterns in the brain that operate between 8–12 Hz. These waves are most active when you’re relaxed but awake, like during meditation, light daydreaming, or just before falling asleep.
But here’s the cool part: you can actually encourage your brain to produce more alpha waves, and one of the most effective — and enjoyable — ways to do that is through music.
Music That Stimulates Alpha Waves
Certain types of music, especially those with slow tempos, soft tones, and minimal lyrics, can help shift your brain into an alpha state. Some example of this are: Ambient and nature soundscapes such as ocean waves, rain, or gentle instrumental music and Binaural beats which Play slightly different frequencies in each ear (with headphones), and your brain creates an internal beat in the alpha range.
While I definitely enjoy some uplifting tunes with with lyrics that have an inspiring message or soothing world music beats, I also often like to use more ambient music or sounds - especially for clients who are seeking down-regulate their nervous system and have a more relaxing and receptive experience.
You can use music for Alpha brain waves at home when you want to study, improve focus, meditate or simply relax. Here's a sample playlist on Youtube that's great for getting work done or for more focused meditation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPni755-Krg
